The better-characterised member of the family is GHK-Cu; AHK-Cu has a much thinner literature, and claims about it are frequently borrowed from GHK-Cu work rather than measured on AHK-Cu itself.

Reconstitution and handling
Reconstitution follows the standard math: concentration equals the milligrams in the vial divided by the millilitres of bacteriostatic water added. There is no single correct concentration — it depends on solubility and how large a draw is wanted. If a mix does not go fully clear, add more water. Refrigerate reconstituted vials at 2–8 °C, keep them out of light, wipe stoppers with alcohol before each puncture, and label with the mix date. Discard anything cloudy, discoloured, or with floaters.
Status in sport
Copper-binding tripeptides are not named on the WADA Prohibited List. Verify against the current year’s list, since classification can change.

How is AHK-Cu different from GHK-Cu?
They are different tripeptides that both bind copper. GHK-Cu (glycine-histidine-lysine) has a substantially larger research literature; AHK-Cu (alanine-histidine-lysine) is studied mainly in hair follicle contexts and is far less characterised.
Is AHK-Cu used topically or injected?
It is generally handled as a topical research material. That differs from most compounds in this library, which are lyophilised powders reconstituted for injection in research settings.
Why do AHK-Cu solutions look blue?
The colour comes from the bound copper. Copper-peptide solutions are characteristically blue to blue-violet, so colour alone is not evidence of concentration or purity.
What the research community gets wrong about AHK-Cu
- GHK-Cu findings are not AHK-Cu findings. Most claims circulating about AHK-Cu cite research performed on GHK-Cu. They are different molecules with different literatures.
- Vendor labels are not assays. Identity and purity come from a certificate of analysis on the batch in front of you, not from the name printed on a vial.
- A reconstituted vial does not stay good forever. Compounds in solution break down over time, and rough handling (shaking hard enough to foam) can damage them. Note the reconstitution date and store as your protocol calls for.
