- FST-344 is a lab-grade, lyophilized form of follistatin, a glycoprotein that binds and inhibits myostatin (GDF-8) and activin within the TGF-beta superfamily, suppressing their signaling in preclinical cell and animal models.
- How do you reconstitute Follistatin-344 for laboratory use?
- Add 0.5–1 mL of bacteriostatic water to a 1 mg vial. 1 mL yields 1 mg/mL; 0.5 mL yields 2 mg/mL. Inject water slowly down the vial wall and swirl gently—never shake—until fully dissolved.
- Is follistatin banned in competitive sport?
- Yes. WADA lists follistatin by name under Prohibited List category S4 (Hormone and Metabolic Modulators) because it reduces myostatin activity. It is banned both in and out of competition.
