FAQ
- What is Thymalin and where does it come from?
- Thymalin is a peptide complex—a mixture of short amino acid chains—originally isolated from thymus tissue of young calves. It belongs to the thymic peptide bioregulator class, sometimes called cytomedins, associated with Vladimir Khavinson's research.
- Is Thymalin legal to use in the United States?
- No. In the United States, Thymalin has not been reviewed or authorized by the FDA for any purpose, and it is not approved by any regulator worldwide. It is available only as a research compound labeled 'not for human use.' Registration as a medicine in Russia or Kazakhstan does not extend to the US, and it is not a licensed product there either.
- Is Thymalin on the WADA prohibited list?
- Thymalin is not specifically named on the WADA Prohibited List. As a thymic immune peptide rather than a growth factor, it falls outside Section S2. Athletes should verify the current list directly, as substances can fall under general categories even when not named outright.
