- Gonadorelin is a synthetic peptide whose amino-acid sequence is identical to endogenous GnRH. Applied in short pulses, it signals the pituitary gland to release LH and FSH. It is not a sex hormone itself.
- Is gonadorelin FDA-approved or commercially available in the United States?
- No. The earlier branded product Factrel was withdrawn from the market. Gonadorelin currently has no active FDA-approved commercial product in the U.S. and is handled only as a research or compounding compound.
- How is a lyophilized gonadorelin vial reconstituted for laboratory use?
- Add bacteriostatic water to the freeze-dried powder; concentration equals milligrams of peptide divided by millilitres of solvent added. A reconstitution pen or cartridge system allows controlled, low-turbulence injection of the solvent.
