Amber 3 ml (300-unit) glass pen cartridges, sold in packs of 10. Same standard cartridge as our clear 3 ml cartridge - same dimensions, same 8 mm short stopper, same fit in the Gansulin pen and every other standard-cartridge instrument - but drawn from Type I amber borosilicate glass. Amber glass filters out UV and much of the blue-violet light that degrades light-sensitive research compounds, so the contents get built-in light protection the moment they leave the fridge.

Why amber: many research peptides and other lab preparations are light-sensitive, and photodegradation starts with UV and short-wavelength visible light. Clear borosilicate transmits nearly all of it; amber borosilicate blocks most light below roughly 450 nm. That matters most when a filled cartridge spends time outside a dark fridge: on a bench under lab lighting, near a window, or zipped into a travel case. For travel days especially, an amber cartridge rides in a pen or a pouch without needing to be wrapped in foil or kept in the dark.

Good for: travel and transport (the light filter rides along - no foil wrap or dark box), cartridges seated in a pen with an open dose window, bench sessions in bright or window-lit rooms, slow multi-week draw-downs, and any compound whose literature flags light sensitivity.

Just launched: this amber version is new, so its own reviews are still coming in. It is the identical cartridge build to our clear 3 ml cartridge - same glass tubing spec, cap, septum, plunger and factory - which is rated 4.8/5 across 24 reviews; only the amber tint is different.

Pick an amount: a 10-pack, or bulk packs of 100, 200 or 400 - the price per cartridge drops as the pack size goes up. Every cartridge is individually pouch-sealed.

Storage: keep cartridges sealed in their pouches in a clean, dry place at moderate room temperature, ideally below 75°F (24°C), away from high humidity. Amber glass reduces light exposure but is not a substitute for proper cold storage of a filled cartridge - follow the stability guidance for whatever the cartridge holds (typically 2-8°C, dark). The pouch is the protective barrier: do not use a cartridge if its pouch is torn, wet or damaged.

Specifications
Product type Amber glass pen cartridge
Capacity 3 ml (300 units on a U-100 scale)
Material Type I amber borosilicate glass, silver crimp cap, rubber septum and plunger
Light protection Amber glass blocks UV and most visible light below about 450 nm, shielding light-sensitive contents from photodegradation. Clear glass transmits nearly all of it.
Pen compatibility The same cartridge fits the Gansulin, V1, V2 and V3 pens. 3 ml cartridges vary by stopper length and that affects fit, so check the stopper length before buying cartridges elsewhere.
Stopper 8 mm short stopper. Many 3 ml cartridges sold elsewhere use an 11 mm long stopper, which is a different format - check before buying cartridges from another source.
Cartridge dimensions Representative for the format and varying slightly by manufacturer: about 11.6 mm outer diameter at the barrel, about 9.7 mm inner diameter, about 62 to 63 mm long, with an 8 mm crimp finish.
Packaging Individually sealed in self-sealing sterilization pouches (EO and steam indicators)
Compatibility Standard cartridge pens, including the Gansulin pen
Pack sizes 10-pack, and bulk packs of 100, 200 or 400
Intended use Research, educational, and demonstration use only

Individually pouch-sealed; inspect each pouch before use.

Common questions

What is different about amber cartridges?
Only the glass. Amber Type I borosilicate filters out UV and most visible light below about 450 nm, protecting light-sensitive contents from photodegradation. Dimensions, stopper, cap and pen fit are identical to our clear 3 ml cartridge.

Which pens do these cartridges fit?
Any standard cartridge pen built around the 3 ml / 300-unit format, including the Gansulin pen and the V1, V2, and V3 reconstitution pens. No proprietary lock-in.

When should I choose amber over clear?
When a filled cartridge will spend time in the light: on a bench, near a window, or in a travel case. Clear glass lets you inspect contents more easily; amber trades a little visibility for built-in light protection.

How much does each cartridge hold?
3 ml, which reads as 300 units on a U-100 scale.

How are they packaged?
Individually sealed in self-sealing sterilization pouches with EO and steam process indicators. As with everything we sell, they are offered for research use and are not sold as sterile medical devices.

What pack sizes are available?
A 10-pack on this page, and bulk packs of 100, 200 or 400 for higher-volume benches.

What is this sold for?
Research, educational, and demonstration use only. Nothing we sell is a medical device or is sold as one, and nothing is for human or veterinary use of any kind.

STORAGE & HANDLING

Keep cartridges sealed in their individual pouches until use: the pouch is the protective barrier. Store in a clean, dry place at moderate room temperature, ideally below 75°F (24°C), at 30 to 60% relative humidity, away from direct sunlight. High humidity weakens the pouch paper and seal adhesive. Do not use a cartridge if its pouch is torn, wet or damaged.
