What it does

Box or pen cooler?

Where the runtime actually matters

The numbers above only mean something once you map them onto a day. Here is what 12 hours and a temperature display are for.

• The airport day. Curbside to gate, a connection, then baggage claim at the other end runs nine or ten hours without trying. The battery covers that with margin. And because the internal temperature is on the lid, you are not cracking it open at every gate to feel whether it is still cold.
• The drive. A car socket turns a 12-hour budget into an open one. Run it off the socket while you drive, unplug when you park, and the battery picks up from there. Same story with a power bank in a backpack.
• The hotel fridge you do not trust. Mini fridges tend to either barely cool or freeze whatever touches the back wall, and you usually find out which one you got too late. Leave this on the desk running off a wall brick and skip the guessing.
