What the research community gets wrong about peptide sourcing and FDA access
The 83% poll number gets read as a quality signal. It is not. Here is what tends to get mixed up when researchers talk about access, sourcing, and what actually lands in the vial.
- A poll about access says nothing about any single lot. Wanting easier sourcing does not change what is inside the vial on your bench. Every lot still needs its own certificate of analysis before you trust the label.
- Easier access does not mean higher quality. More suppliers can also mean more variation between them. The percentage printed on the label and the number on the assay can disagree, and that gap changes your reconstitution math.
- Two vials that look identical can be very different. Same white powder and same label do not guarantee the same real peptide content, the same counterion (salt form), or the same water content. Appearance is not a purity check.
