How does a click-dial pen actually meter a volume?
It is a mechanical metering device with no electronics. Turning the dial advances the cartridge plunger by a fixed distance for every unit set, with one audible and tactile click per unit, and the setting is held until it is dispensed. The repeatability comes from the lead-screw pitch and the detent mechanism.
What is the overdraw interlock?
It stops the dial when the setting would exceed what is left in the cartridge, so an impossible draw cannot be set in the first place. The Gansulin click-dial pen is the only pen we stock that has it.
Can a misdial be corrected without wasting material?
Yes, on the Gansulin pen. Dial-back correction lets a mis-set count be wound back without expelling anything.
What is the dose range and increment?
1 to 60 units, in 0.01 ml increments. One unit is 0.01 ml on a U-100 scale, and a full 3 ml cartridge holds 300 units.
Is a pen an accurate volumetric instrument?
No, not in the traceable sense. These are laboratory and educational hardware. If a protocol needs documented volumetric accuracy, a calibrated positive-displacement pipette is the correct tool and a pen is not.
