Is Preppin Peppers a legitimate store?
Yes. This store is operated by Hausgem LLC (dba PreppinPeppers), a United States limited liability company. Every order ships with tracking, faulty or incorrect items are replaced or refunded in full, and a human answers support email within 1–2 business days.
Are the pens quality-controlled?
Our pens use a precision dial mechanism (click-dial on the Gansulin, draw-and-push on the V1, V2 and V3) built for consistent, repeatable dispensing, paired with 3 ml glass cartridges. Any wrong, defective, or damaged item is replaced or refunded free.
Are the products sterile or for human use?
No. Everything sold is for research, educational, and demonstration use only. Nothing is sold sterile, as a medical device, or for human or veterinary use, and products have not been evaluated by the FDA.
Will the cartridges fit my pen?
The 3 ml glass cartridges are sized for our reconstitution pens: the Gansulin, V1, V2 and V3. If you are using different hardware, email us the pen model before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
Do I need bacteriostatic water as well?
Reconstitution needs a diluent, which is sold separately — the pens and cartridges do not include it. Bacteriostatic water is the usual choice for research reconstitution work.
The 3-Mode Pen Cooler is a cylindrical pen cooler that holds one pen upright in a 54 mm chamber and keeps it cold three ways: USB power, a freezable ice ring (up to about 18 hours with no power) or ice cubes as a backup. All three run inside a 304 stainless-steel double-wall vacuum cabin, and there is no internal battery to wear out.

How it stays cold
- USB power, indefinite. Plug the lid into any DC 5V USB source. A power bank you already carry keeps it portable; a wall adapter or car charger also works. It cools for as long as it is connected.
- Freezable ice ring, up to about 18 hours. Freeze the stainless ring for 6-8 hours and drop it in. Nothing to charge or plug in, and no lithium cell, which makes it the mode for flights and the one most people use most.
- Ice cubes, emergency backup. No power and no frozen ring? Fill the food-grade PP bucket with ice cubes to bridge to the next charge or frozen ring.
The double-wall vacuum cabin is always working, stretching whichever mode you use. Run one cold source at a time: do not combine the ice ring with the electric cooling lid.
Why upright. A pen laid flat in a cold bag rolls and the cartridge shifts. Here it stands in a fitted 54 mm cabin, the way it sits on the bench, so it stays put and the cold stays even around it. With the sleeve and strap it rides in a bag every day, and the same unit covers the long day out, the place with no outlet and the trip that runs overnight.
How it compares
Most pen coolers pick one strategy: a rechargeable battery that runs down, or a passive gel pack that melts. This one does both jobs, plus a third.

How does the 3-Mode Pen Cooler stay cold without a battery?
It has no internal battery. Plugged into any DC 5V USB source it cools indefinitely. Unplugged, a frozen 304 stainless ice ring keeps the double-wall vacuum cabin cold for up to about 18 hours, and ice cubes in the food-grade PP bucket are an emergency backup. Use one cold source at a time.
How long does the 3-Mode Pen Cooler run?
On USB, for as long as it is plugged in. On the ice ring, up to about 18 hours with no power (freeze the ring 6-8 hours first). Ice cubes bridge the gap to the next charge or frozen ring. With no sealed battery, there is no battery runtime to degrade over the life of the unit.
Does it fit every Preppin Peppers pen?
Yes. The 54 mm chamber is sized for the standard 3 ml glass cartridge body, which is the same across the Gansulin, V1, V2 and V3 pens.
Can I fly with the 3-Mode Pen Cooler?
Ice-ring mode is the flight mode: a frozen stainless ring in a vacuum cabin, with no lithium battery, no gel pack and nothing to plug in. Check your airline's rules, and the storage guidance for your specific material, before you travel.
How do the temperature display and thermostat work?
The lid display shows the actual internal cabin temperature and lets you set a target, with two modes: energy-saving for a steady hold and quick-cool for a faster pull-down. The included English manual translates every button.
3-Mode Pen Cooler or Travel Cooler Box?
The 3-Mode Pen Cooler carries one pen upright and doubles as a travel case. The Travel Cooler Box is a larger hard-shell box with a fitted tray for twelve 3 ml vials, about 12 hours on its internal battery or indefinitely on USB, and a temperature display on the lid.
Which case or cooler fits my pen?
All three are sized around a standard 3 ml cartridge pen. The Portable Pen Carry Case is a PU hard-shell zip case with no cooling. The EVA Travel Case adds a reusable gel ice pack for short trips. The 3-Mode Pen Cooler is the only one that cools actively and holds the pen upright.

This is a temperature-controlled container; it makes no claim about any material stored inside it, and the storage guidance supplied with your specific material is always the final word.
Storage & handling
Bacteriostatic water: store at controlled room temperature, 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C), away from direct sunlight; never freeze. Once the septum has been punctured, standard practice is to discard the vial 28 days after first entry.
Pens, cartridges, cases and coolers: keep clean and dry at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Store sealed cartridges in their pouches until use.

Where we ship: worldwide, fully tracked. International orders may be charged import duties or taxes by the destination country; those are the recipient's responsibility and are not included in our prices.
Delivery time: typically 10 to 15 business days in the US and 10 to 20 business days internationally. The tracking number is emailed the moment the order ships.

Cartridge and pen compatibility
One cartridge for every pen we sell. The Gansulin, V1, V2 and V3 pens all take the same standard 3 ml (300-unit) glass cartridge with the 11 mm long plunger, the one we sell: about 11.6 mm outer diameter, 62 to 63 mm long, 8 mm crimp neck. Clear and amber cartridges are dimensionally identical; only the glass differs.
Other brands' cartridges in our pens: any standard 3 ml glass cartridge with the 11 mm long plunger (stopper) fits. 3 ml cartridges with the shorter, about 8 mm plunger are a different format, and the two look identical from the outside, so check the plunger height before buying cartridges elsewhere.
Our cartridges in other pens: third-party reusable pens built for the standard 3 ml cartridge format, such as an 80-unit NEST-style pen or a HumaPen Luxura-type 3 ml pen, are designed around the same glass dimensions, but each is built for one plunger height and we have not tested those pens ourselves. Confirm that the pen specifies a 3 ml, 11 mm long-plunger cartridge.
Needles: the pens accept standard screw-on pen needles. Needles are not included and we do not sell them.
